Developing medical devices, electronics and SaMD through to market readiness

With the ILU MedTech Co-Development Call, we aim to support innovative companies in efficiently bringing new medical devices, electronic components and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) to market readiness.
The focus is on joint product development with shared financing, clear roles and a strong emphasis on feasibility and market success.
We are looking for commercial enterprises aiming to bring to market a product innovation that is technically feasible, has a clear regulatory pathway and is economically viable.
Whether you are a start-up or an established SME — applications are welcome.
Up to 50% of the development costs are covered, including quality management (QM). Applications are welcome at any stage — whether you already have a demonstrator or functional model, or are still at the very beginning.
Submission deadline: 15 May 2026You are a commercial company registered in the EU. You are able to cover your share of the financing.
For a physical medical device, Inotec receives the exclusive manufacturing rights for up to 24 months at competitive terms. If required, support for the quality management system is provided exclusively by leap:up GmbH for 24 months.

Submissions are reviewed by a jury in a two-stage process. They are first assessed independently from a technical perspective, and then evaluated in terms of market opportunity and market fit. Already have a market concept? Feel free to include the relevant key figures with your application.
Once all reviews are completed, the three best products or product ideas are selected and the corresponding applicants are informed. The final winner is then drawn by lot.
The initiators of the ILU MedTech Co-Development Call are Inotec Forschungs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH and leap:up GmbH. The jury is composed of experts from the fields of medical technology, electronics, software, SaMD, MDR, QM and medicine.
The winner is notified by e-mail. All further steps are coordinated jointly with the winner once the selection has been made. Please review the requirements and conditions in advance.
